Eastland Career Center Welding Advisory Meeting tonight. 3rd Years Apprentice Nicholas Torr attended as a Sheet Metal Apprentice that graduated from Eastland Career Center and went through the school to work program. Ohio Valley Coordinators Group "OVCG" meeting today with all seven Ohio Sheet Metal Programs. Happy Retirement to Gary Shinkle and Welcome to Cort Wayman as the changing of the guard in Cincinnati.
Lunch Meeting with Columbus Apprentice Council (CAC) with training coordinators from all the trades. Business managers and Business agents were invited today. Good discussion about the building trades working together to have a pre-apprenticeship outreach program that would go across trades and give us good applicants ready to go to work. Happy Birthday to Business Manager Rodney French Today! Believe it or not, after the meeting some stayed to watch Dorsey Hager leading these guys signing Happy Birthday to Rodney.
Michael Kadunc filled out a post card at the Kiwanis College Career fair and his name was drawn for the Galaxy TAB A prize! Michael looks like a winner and we hope to see him start his career as a Sheet Metal Apprentice after graduation. He took the first step today by filling out an application and getting on the interview list. Load Truck with donated supplies, Jeff Rush to drive truck to Florida Sheet Metal Hall for members effected by Hurricane Irma. Thanks Jeff Rush for stepping up and getting everything delivered.
