Yes, Columbus State (CSCC) Grades! All Sheet Metal Apprentices received college credit at CSCC as they go through our apprenticeship classes, students are dual enrolled. The best part in the CSCC college credits are all paid for by the apprenticeship program. You will received 36 college credits you own as you go through the Sheet Metal Apprenticeship.

Interviews to get into the Columbus Sheet Metal Workers Apprenticeship (CSMWA) where held today, many applicants received an interview and can be sent out as a 1st year apprentices as soon as new jobs roll in. Our applicant list is looking good, we not only have many qualified applicants, but it is a diverse list of names that will help keep SMART LU#24 looking like the community that we build, work and live in.

Instructors got together tonight to break bread and celebrate another year of success. We have the greatest teachers in the country, I would not trade them for any others. The knowledge and years of experience is truly impressive. We have a great team of teachers, thanks for everything you are doing to pass on skilled sheet metal trade to the next generation.

1st annual SCCTC Career Fair, Belcher Meeting Room. Rick Stringer did a great job organizing this event, I hope he continues to host this fair every year, I got to talk to some very good candidates, hope they come in and become Sheet Metal Apprentices.

Great day in Newark at C-Tec enjoying the Career & Job Expo. Very busy day with students for high school and adult education stopping by to investigate opportunities. Great questions and lots of interest, cant wait to see some of these student in our classes at the Sheet Metal Apprenticeship.

.South Point members had a chance to take welding test today and become an AWS Certified welder. This is a hard test and a long night, four students passed today. Many place you would need to pay to take a test and become a certified AWS welder. In the Sheet Metal Workers apprenticeship, it is part of the apprenticeship pathway and is paid for by the apprenticeship program. This is members helping members, because the apprenticeship program is paid for with contributions from members out of their hourly rate. Nice Job Bryan, Tristan, Ryan and Jonathan, congratulations!

Today we passed our VA audit and planned a pathway going forward to get our veteran apprentices their well earned VA education benefits as they go through the apprenticeship.

Meeting today to plan a Career Fair at Fort Hayes Career Center. Central Ohio Building Trades, Mayor Ginthors office, CWIT, SMCCO and MACAO helping organize, plan and pay for a great career fair at Fort Hayes career Center. Should be a good night, a lot of good people working together for a common goal.

HVAC Instructor Glenn Sager proctors an EPA test today, many 3rd year passed and become EPA certified.
