November 15, 2016 Career Day at the Sheet Metal Workers is over, the students are headed home, new tool trays in hand. Thanks to Eastland career Center and Fort Hayes Career Center for bring out your students! I think we had four seniors apply today and maybe we can get some of the juniors in our school to work program.

November 15, 2016 Ohio State Apprenticeship Council "OSAC" Executive Administrator Patrick Reardon visited the Sheet Metal Workers Training Center today, Patrick talked to three different groups from Fort Hayes and Eastland Career Centers. Patrick even built a Tool Tray tool box right along with the students. Patrick does a great job, I am always amazed at how he can relate and connect with young people. Very glad to have Patrick come to our Career Day during National Apprenticeship week.

November 10, 2016 Beachcroft High School College and career Fair today. I got to work with Rich Manley from LU#189 talking apprenticeship to the Beachcroft students. Lots of good candidates, I hope to see some come apply for Sheet Metal Apprenticeship.

November 10, 2016 College and Career Expo at Fort Hayes today, lot's of really good students, definitely some that could be Sheet Metal Workers. Two already are Pre-Apprentices and we have other members from Fort Hayes also.
Attended the Fort Hayes Career Center welding advisory meeting with instructor Andy Taylor. I got to meet 2 junior students and talk Sheet Metal. I hope we can get these students in our Pre-Apprentice program next summer and get their career started.
I was able to go with Jeff Rowe to Huntington East Middle School for the second year running. We talked to a lot of students about what a Sheet Metal Worker does and the skilled trades. Some of them came up to Jeff and said I know what a Sheet Metal Workers is, my dad is a Sheet Metal Worker. This was a good career day, the school was packed and the students were engaged. All Ohio Counselor's Conference yesterday and today. We are guest of ACT Ohio and there are thousands of counselors at the conference. Really appreciate the opportunity talk talk about the Sheet Metal Workers Apprenticeship.
Today I spent with Dayton Coordinator Eugene Frazier at the Midwest Roofing Contractors Association Conference. Made some good contacts with Architectural contractor and suppliers. Had a few good outreach contact throughout the day. Great to network with Eugene
