During the COVID-19 emergency we are very concerned for your health. If you feel sick, have a fever or have been exposed to the virus we suggest you self-quarantine. During this emergency, if you are not working due to the virus, the apprenticeship expects that you will go back to the employer that you were working for before the emergency. If you are not working, we suggest the employer to give you a termination slip with “Other” checked and “COVID-19” noted. We are asking all apprentices to text Rob Gartner at 740.788.2383 with any missed time, this needs to be tracked. We need all apprentices to be extra careful to fill out OJT correctly on totaltrack.org! This is a good time to call and make sure your dues are caught up (dues 800-634-6574), getting suspended from the union would be a bad thing during this emergency, it could affect unemployment. The JATC is open and we will be at the office until otherwise directed, but keep in mind the building is closed to any outside traffic. There are no meetings, classes or other activities in the building until further notice. I have been working with the international for ways to have meetings, classes and group discussions through a service called zoom, more to come on that in the future. Rob and Cheri can both work from home if needed and both numbers are expected to be used. You can contact Cheri at 614.471.3107. If you are not working because of COVID-19, when you apply for unemployment (unemployment.ohio.gov) use the code: 2000180. We cannot tell you whether to go to work or not at this time, so you must make that decision with your employer. Feel free to call/text Rob on his cell anytime, just remember I might need to get off a call to call you back, please leave a message or text me.
Thank you, Stay Healthy!
